Wrong Compensation. A semiconductor chip maker conducted an experiment. Workers worked four days a week and took a break. On the first workday, Monday, if they produced a certain number of chips, the company gave them a $30 bonus to motivate their work. However, there was no compensation for the remaining three days. The same bonus was offered again when work resumed after the holidays. The workers were divided into groups, and only on the first day did they earn a bonus: the first group received no reward, the second group was paid the same amount, the third group received a pizza coupon , and the fourth group got a compliment text message , with their productivity monitored for the other three days. Results showed that the first group, with no compensation, had the lowest productivity. The highest productivity was seen in the praise letter group, followed by the other groups. The irony of sacrifice. Those primarily responsible for the problematic and troubling tasks within the organization can be viewed as possessing a strong spirit of sacrifice. All members of the organization will appreciate those who devote themselves, and others will express gratitude for the contributing members who carry the burden of hard work for them. Their relationships within the organization can also be assumed to be harmonious. However, if the organization fails to compensate these members for their sacrifice adequately, the members who benefited from it will remain, but the dedicated members may feel hurt and potentially decide to leave. If social media doesn't have a “Like” or “Comment” feature, there is just a post and claim… The consent of others is “intermittent variable compensation.” Without compensation, we can't sustain to do anything. It is a problem even if there is always compensation. This is because compensation is taken for granted. If so, the rewards you take for granted will not function. It is “gambling” that this “intermittent variable compensation” works well. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”
