Sometimes one event causes another. In such cases, the first event is often the result of a previous event that led to it. For example, if you roll a die and get a 3, that result already includes the number 3 on the die. The first civilizations of mankind originated in arid climates. The Mesopotamian and Egyptian civilizations are examples. A city is relatively safe from infectious diseases if it is drier than wet. The key is water. It is a river where there is water while it is dry. Therefore, the shape and location of the river are important.
