Just my thoughts #0624

Israeli Kindergarten. Dual-income couples often arrived late to pick up their children. As a result, the kindergarten implemented a rule that parents would face a fine if they were late; however, even though this introduced a penalty system, it also led to more delays in pickup times. By replacing feelings of guilt with money, paying a fee for being late became the new norm. After recognizing the mistake and removing the fine system, what happened? More parents started arriving late. When money becomes involved, the exchange of value fundamentally changes the nature of the relationship. And once that change occurs, it doesn’t revert. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

When farming, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t rain, but if it rains just twice a year, it ruins the farm. If it rains heavily, it causes a flood; if it doesn’t rain for a long time, it leads to drought. Regularity is a crucial habit that enriches our lives. So is money. Money that comes in regularly every month is more valuable than money that arrives all at once. A small but consistent action taken every day can radically change your life. However, the reason this is hard for us is that the effect must accumulate over a certain period before you can feel a significant difference. Patience accomplishes very valuable things that money cannot achieve. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

There’s a saying that after a flood, no water is left to drink. Those who see this as a metaphor grasp that it signifies that “usefulness” outweighs “quantity.” In contrast, literal interpreters might invest in stocks for “mineral water” due to an anticipated rise in demand for bottled water post-flood. This illustrates how interpretation and action can diverge significantly. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”
