This world is designed to favor the elderly. Gaining experience through trial and error first means that you have a competitive advantage over latecomers. It also occupies an advantageous position in social organization. This is the advantage that arises from being the first to start. However, the statement that 1 plus 1 equals 2 can be understood without any experience; it serves as an analytic proposition that can be known by reason compared to the aforementioned experiential proposition. In other words, in the realm of analytic propositions, the advantage of being older does not hold much weight. The world needs both experiential propositions and analytic propositions, but experience is not always essential. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

The physical value of a book is a measurable cost of paper, printing, and labor charges, but estimating the value of the book’s contents is difficult. Most intangible values are similarly challenging to assess. We purchase the intangible value of a book at its physical price. When revenues are generated, the added value produced can be realized. These revenues arise solely from sales, which are based on price, not value. In essence, there is always an imbalance between price and value, and this imbalance determines whether one is wealthy or poor. Management is the act that shifts this imbalance in my favor. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

Value and price are different. Value results from relative comparison, and the numerical expression of this result is price; however, value and price do not always align. If the price-to-value ratio is positive, the seller makes a profit while the buyer incurs a loss. Conversely, if it is negative, the seller faces a loss, and the buyer gains a profit. Transactions occur at price, not at value. Handling the ground differs from selling without knowing that gold is buried and purchasing with that knowledge while keeping it hidden. The disparity between value and price creates a divide between wealth and poverty. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

The reason managers need to know poetry is that it can inspire them to solve problems. Poetry consists of statements, similes, metaphors, substitutions, and transpositions, and this function serves as a tool for addressing issues in management. Statements identify the core of the problem, while similes and metaphors ignite the imagination to foster problem-solving. Substitutions and transpositions facilitate the connection and application of methods for resolving the issue. Rhetoric is a valuable key to problem-solving that enhances critical thinking; after all, it is an issue of application. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

In mathematics, a state without contradictions is defined as ‘true,’ and in morality, it is called ‘good.’ However, in management and politics, contradiction is used by organizations and the public to control or to win or lose the hearts of people. In other words, contradiction is the criterion that defines the state in the conceptual world, but it is a tool that determines the state in the real world. Therefore, contradiction is a problem to be solved when defined as an idea, but when acted upon, it is the center of balance that sets the order between contradiction and truth and rebalances the relationship where more importance should be placed. Contradiction is a divine device that prevents human beings from being arrogant. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

In a society and organization where we live together, balance and dedication are essential. Balance refers to the proper allocation of resources within the organization, while dedication means devoting energy to others. This balance and dedication are always necessary whenever we are with others, yet contradictions arise here. In other words, the energy for dedication emerges when the balance is disrupted. Since both cannot be established simultaneously, it is important to maintain the cycle properly. First, we achieve balance; then it is disrupted for a while, necessitating the devotion of our energy, after which we need a cycle to regain balance again. Organizations function within this cycle. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

If I’m poor now, it means I’m more likely to become poorer in the future. Statistically, that’s the case. If you don’t have the money to go to the hospital now and you don’t seek treatment, you could suffer from cancer in the near future. Paying now reduces the risk of greater expenses later. Consequently, the rich can purchase the same goods or services at lower prices than the poor. The same principle applies to knowledge and health. Interest is a cost. If you don’t acquire knowledge, interest will accumulate, and if you neglect your health now, interest will also increase. We often forget that an expense is revenue for someone else. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

“Poverty charges interest,” said American singer Tay Zonday. If you don’t have money to buy toothpaste or a toothbrush, you will pay for the implant next year. This applies even to those with physical disabilities. People with disabilities often pay more for the average distance traveled. In contrast, the costs for the wealthy or non-disabled are cheaper and more efficient than those for others. Weakness is not merely a product of comparing superiority and inferiority. The moment I recognize my weakness, I must keep in mind the price I will pay in the future, and the world must charge me that interest. We often try to forget that this accumulation of poverty interest makes us poorer. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

Among Marvel characters, I’ve read an article claiming that the most powerful character in a fight is “Ant-Man.” The reason lies in size. No matter how powerful humans are, dealing with a virus is challenging. The civilization humans have built is a result of a daily life that accommodates this size. Now we are governed by that civilization. My thoughts occur within that context. Even a small crumb of bread is a windfall for an ant. As size changes, so do attributes and happiness. My thoughts are closely connected to the environment around me. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

The philosopher Aristotle stated, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” If the repetition of an action is a ‘habit,’ then this ‘habit’ emphasizes the connection between the actions. For instance, if you consistently drink coffee after a meal, it suggests that the preceding ‘meal’ holds more significance than the coffee. In contrast, the connection of coffee following that meal is essential. Even if you cannot drink coffee, you can survive; however, if you cannot eat, your survival is at risk. Meals are important, and they take precedence over coffee. In other words, for an action to be repeated, the persistence and repeatability vary based on the priority of the actions that occur before and after the habit. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

Humans reveal their values through choices amidst contradictions. When people experience anger, they tend to prioritize the reasons behind that emotion; when they feel regret, they recognize what they love about the other person. Essentially, humans display their true character in adverse situations. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

Not all of them, but conservatism seeks to maintain vested interests, while liberalism aims to reform them. Although most wealthy individuals tend to adhere to conservatism, the poor generally support liberalism. However, when it comes to voting, the poor often choose conservatism because liberalism presents a realistic view, whereas conservatism embodies the future that the poor envision in reality. The world is not so simple. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

To draw a picture well, you must practice frequently. To write well, you need to write a lot. Quantity surpasses quality. In some cases, improved skills or methods are necessary for growth and development. However, anyone aiming to achieve remarkable progress can only do so through extensive training and repetition. Notably, learning a foreign language is more about training than studying. Without diligent practice in speaking aloud, you will struggle to progress beyond a certain level. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

Imagination and creativity are different concepts. A dream of flying exemplifies imagination, whereas building an airplane to fly embodies creativity. The original driving force behind creativity is imagination, but creativity is trying to combine, connect, and try several elements in reality. If you try, you may feel frustrated, but the resilience to attempt again, even after failure, originates from your imagination. Together, these two concepts transform and evolve the world. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

Rest refers to the state of accepting a ‘meaningless stimulus,’ rather than being an absence of any stimulus. There is no genuinely meaningless thing in this world; paradoxically, meaninglessness is meaningful because it ‘has no meaning.’ Excessive information and stimulation can destroy creativity. We intentionally need to be in a state of accepting meaningless stimuli in our daily lives. Whether it’s listening to music, enjoying the sounds of nature, or observing ordinary visual scenes that don’t matter, anything is acceptable. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

People with strong interpretive skills receive support from others. Interpretive ability involves i) classifying or grouping phenomena with similar attributes, ii) identifying patterns that share commonalities within the classified groups, and iii) connecting or comparing these patterns with other attribute patterns to gain insights. If the content can be presented in a clear and engaging manner, we will achieve interpretive supremacy among the public. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

The world grants power through the interpretation of phenomena, gaining support from many people. Acquiring power through interpretation is termed “interpretation supremacy.” Interpretation involves explaining and understanding the essential concepts that are often concealed in a phenomenon, yet are crucial to its existence. The media has embraced journalism for its capacity to rapidly disseminate facts to a broad audience. Journalism embodies interpretive supremacy. To make an impact in the world, I must be able to express myself and my actions in an engaging and accessible manner, leveraging various media to share my interpretations. With the prevalence of social media, all that is required now is the skill to interpret and seize interpretive supremacy, along with the capability to articulate it effectively. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

Courage and brazenness, which ordinary humans often lack, are essential assets for beggars. Courage- especially the kind that others cannot easily afford- holds significant value. This value stems from the essence of courage itself rather than its rarity. We need brazenness when we owe others for a time, yet we must act for ourselves, even at the cost of feeling remorse. Thus, intangible assets like courage and brazenness can replace tangible assets such as cash. Let’s not despair over our lack of material possessions. This does not imply that we should be beggars; rather, it suggests that there are many models in the world to follow. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

Knowing the effect means genuinely understanding it. You don’t honestly know just because you comprehend the definition and meaning. We only know when we recognize the effect it has in a specific context, how it influences that context, and what impact it creates, including any aftereffects. Therefore, there are things I am unaware of, so I cannot claim to know everything. Let’s not confuse partial knowledge with complete understanding. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

Just my thoughts #0461

If the price of bread is one dollar, it signifies that the bread has a monetary value of approximately one dollar. Conversely, this indicates that one dollar represents the intrinsic value of the goods associated with the bread. In other words, the values of money and bread (goods) are established through mutual comparison, which also implies that they do not exist independently in the world, as they are assigned absolute values from the moment of their existence. If only comparison can be made, value can be assessed regardless of whether the comparison is mandatory or voluntary, allowing the value to be expressed as a price, which is its monetary value. This suggests that there is no absolute value in the economy, only relative value, and that all values constructed through comparison are subject to fluctuations in price. Consequently, wealth involves the act of preserving or augmenting this relative value while continually exchanging for other goods as a legitimate act of trading. Th...
