Just my thoughts #0480

This world is designed to favor the elderly. Gaining experience through trial and error first means that you have a competitive advantage over latecomers. It also occupies an advantageous position in social organization. This is the advantage that arises from being the first to start. However, the statement that 1 plus 1 equals 2 can be understood without any experience; it serves as an analytic proposition that can be known by reason compared to the aforementioned experiential proposition. In other words, in the realm of analytic propositions, the advantage of being older does not hold much weight. The world needs both experiential propositions and analytic propositions, but experience is not always essential. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

If I’m poor now, it means I’m more likely to become poorer in the future. Statistically, that’s the case. If you don’t have the money to go to the hospital now and you don’t seek treatment, you could suffer from cancer in the near future. Paying now reduces the risk of greater expenses later. Consequently, the rich can purchase the same goods or services at lower prices than the poor. The same principle applies to knowledge and health. Interest is a cost. If you don’t acquire knowledge, interest will accumulate, and if you neglect your health now, interest will also increase. We often forget that an expense is revenue for someone else. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

Video creators often face bankruptcy due to “editing.” Profit is essential for revenue generation; profit is realized only when revenue surpasses costs. “Editing” constitutes a significant “cost” to boost sales. There’s a belief that quality editing enhances the likelihood of sales. While this is somewhat true, survival until a sales surge depends primarily on minimizing costs (editing). It’s not filming, but “editing” that often leads video productions to financial failure. Nonetheless, many production companies fail to adequately factor in editing costs into their overall production expenses. The reality is that a substantial amount of money is tied up in “editing.” - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

Now, let’s think about it this way. You have a pig. Your pocket will incur expenses to save the pig. If the pig gives birth to a baby, there are 12 more pigs. The cost of the stock feed increases further, but the total number of pigs increases by 13, and your assets rise. Assets are a means and measure of wealth, although they also increase costs. To achieve wealth, you need to acquire a lot of assets at a low cost. We call the increase in the number of pigs “production” in economic terms. That is, there must be production to obtain assets. Produce anything, whether you create services, compose music, or make a product. Without production, there cannot be wealth. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

Starbucks Korea sells a 355ml tall size cup of Americano at KRW 4,500. It contains 3.5% solid matter to at least manifest tastes and flavors. The rest is just WATER. We should simultaneously drink 96.5% of the water to get just a few 3.5% together. The average production cost of 1ml of tap water in Seoul is KRW 0.00051. That's the same as paying about KRW 4,000 for a cup of tap water of about 350ml. We would think of how much we make money by selling coffee, but it's our misunderstanding. As an excuse for a few solid matters of "coffee", they're selling tap water at the unbelievable price of over KRW 4,000. They're making money with the cheapest solvent 'WATER', not 'COFFEE'. But almost all businessmen are trying to sell the solid matters of 3.5% at a high price. The reason, businessmen cannot make money is they make the wrong selection which cannot make money since the beginning. The making structure is first, and the effort is second. - Josep...

"Discount" is the sacrifice of the value-added you have created. Failure to produce Value Added will result in no profit, and there is a greater chance that the net worth will decrease as much as the profit that has been reduced. The problem is the customer. "Discounting from the start" and "selling at a discount" are strictly different for customers. Neither can do it right if the sellers don't know the "cost". Surprisingly, many businessmen do business without knowing the value they add and the cost. - Joseph's "just my thoughts"
