Just my thoughts #0570

“I can live well alone!” is not correct. If I live alone, I can survive to some extent, but ultimately, it is hard to survive, and “living well” is even more challenging. This is because the economic principle is established not by ‘alone’ but by ‘many people.’ If I live well, it means that someone has become poor because of me or is living well with me. The fact that through value exchange, or transaction, we can meet each other’s needs and store the surplus from that production is both true and real. Trading is not done in isolation. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

Power is often granted rather than generated. In other words, it derives from the consensual approval of others. The dilemma lies in whether to use the power conferred to the organization. If power is not utilized when it should be, it leads to neglect and a breach of trust. Conversely, if it is used when it should not be, it constitutes interference and violence. So, how do we distinguish between these situations? It should be exercised decisively when disagreements need resolution, when injustice or crime is anticipated or has occurred, or when harm is expected to be, or has been, inflicted on someone. In these instances, the use of power must be accompanied by accountability. Power should be deployed only if no one else is accountable for the choices and decisions made. Otherwise, it is better left to the organization’s discretion. Consequently, power, leadership, and benefits are healthy only when proportional to the level of responsibility. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

The representatives do not produce the results; instead, they establish the system that generates those results. Failing to grasp this distinction can lead to significant consequences. The system defines a goal, organizes a structure that aligns with that goal, designates a person responsible for each point of connection within the structure, assigns appropriate roles, and delegates authority and responsibility. Ultimately, the representatives are responsible for the system. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

Interpreting or translating foreign languages, social phenomena, and new knowledge to explain and inform the public represents a position of power. Interpreters and communicators draw public attention and share information, generating power through public acceptance. Trust is the essence of power. Power is not merely about the strength of force but rather the direction and purpose behind its use. The more intelligent and educated you are, the greater your responsibility in wielding power. It is a misfortune for society as a whole if power remains untapped or is misused. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

Books focused on “healing” often dominate the overall bestseller charts in South Korea, indicating strong reader interest in comfort. There are two primary strategies for commercializing healing concepts. The first strategy aims to alleviate guilt while fostering a sense of responsibility. The second approach aims to reinforce guilt but provides comfort after encouraging personal accountability. This methodology is also applicable in areas such as religion and counseling psychology. At the core of the healing industry is the concept of “privatizing pain.” Essentially, it means: “It’s not your fault (reducing guilt), but you have the power to change it (reinforcing responsibility).” - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

A company is a setting where ordinary individuals come together to achieve remarkable accomplishments. Leaders don’t need to surpass every member in ability; instead, they must provide a vision of a vibrant and promising future. It is the leaders’ integrity and responsibility to applaud, motivate, and recognize their team’s contributions. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

It is called “fate” that the choice is not given. Choosing in the hope of good results is called “effort,” and the process of paying the price for even bad results come out is called “responsibility.” No matter how valuable your efforts and responsibilities are, they are all worthless without “fate” as the background of your choice. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

As a classical composer, Beethoven was the first to assign the work number 'Op.' to his works. Music scholars numbered the works of other famous classical composers after they had passed away. Beethoven believed that his work would be passed on to future generations, and he made it his responsibility to do so. Therefore, uncharacterized works were not given an 'Op.', leaving him with fewer works than other composers. This attitude influenced other composers and made them responsible for their creations. Since then, of course, the number of works by composers has decreased. The responsibility of one person can affect a generation and beyond. - Joseph's "just my thoughts"
