Sometimes one event causes another. In such cases, the first event is often the result of a previous event that led to it. For example, if you roll a die and get a 3, that result already includes the number 3 on the die. Among taste receptors, there are four times as many receptors for detecting bitter flavors compared to other taste perceptions, which is believed to be an evolutionary adaptation for safety against toxins.
